The Caribbean island was inhabited by main tribes such as the Arawaks , the Ciboney and the Caribs. Spain was the first who claim the island as its own and this led to bloody conflicts between other major Europeans such as France, England, Netherlands and Denmark.
Caribbean is the collection of islands and mainland territories such as Belize, Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana and exhibits a very varied diversity in history and culture. Due to such a varied diversity, it is very difficult to pen down the history of the Caribbean.
The Caribbean reflects its cultural and traditional richness in their music and food. Caribbean has a rich music history which includes unique styles such as Calypso, reggae, soca, zouk and many other styles. The Europeans did a splendid job by up keeping the historical sites and architecture allowing the new amalgamation of cultures.
Nowadays, the culture of the Caribbean island is splintered as many of the islands stake out new identities by winning their independence. While some of the islands have become commonwealths of the United States.
The languages which are widely spoken are English, French, Spanish and Dutch.
